Welcome to St. Joseph’s Hill Secondary School – Kyembogo, a Catholic-founded institution established in 1996 and sponsored by the Priests and Brothers of the Congregation of Holy Cross.
Rooted in the motto “Education is Light” and inspired by our slogan “Making a Difference,” we are committed to nurturing students into responsible citizens, grounded in faith and equipped with knowledge, skills, and values for life.
St. Joseph’s Hill Secondary School is located at Kyembogo in Kyarusozi sub-county, Kyenjojo District 231Km from Rugombe trading center on the Mubende Fort Portal highway.
Located in the serene environment of Kyembogo Sub-County, 23 kilometers off the Fort Portal–Kampala Highway in Kyenjojo District, our school operates under the Diocese of Fort Portal and is fully registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports. We offer both day and boarding options, welcoming students from Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania.

Our Identity
As part of the Holy Cross family, we are Educators in the Faith. Our spiritual life is “Distinctively Catholic, Open to All,” supported by a full-time Chaplain, Brothers, and Sisters who guide our students through their spiritual journey. Regular Masses are held on Sundays and Wednesdays, alongside vibrant Faith Clubs like the Legion of Mary, Justice and Peace, and the Andre Bessette Vocation Club.

We offer a broad curriculum at both O-Level and A-Level, including sciences, arts, and vocational subjects. Our well-equipped science labs, fully stocked library, and modern ICT Centre with 75 personal computer stations ensure that our learners are fully prepared for the digital and scientific world.

We believe in holistic education. Our students thrive through active participation in Academic Clubs (e.g. ICT, Debate, Maths), Faith Clubs, and Social Clubs (e.g. Interact, Performing Arts).
