Years of history and education

St. Joseph’s Hill Secondary School – Kyembogo was established in 1996 as a Catholic-founded school under the sponsorship of the Congregation of Holy Cross Priests and Brothers, known worldwide for their commitment to educating both the mind and the heart.

Located in the peaceful and green hills of Kyembogo Sub-County in Kyenjojo District, within Kyarusozi Catholic Parish of the Fort Portal Diocese, the school was founded to meet the growing demand for quality secondary education rooted in faith, discipline, and academic excellence.

From its humble beginnings, St. Joseph’s Hill S.S.S. has grown steadily, both in numbers and in reputation. It is now a fully registered school with Uganda’s Ministry of Education and Sports, offering both day and boarding facilities. Over the years, the school has become a vibrant learning community that attracts students from across Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania, with a focus on holistic formation—spiritually, intellectually, socially, and physically.

With continuous support from the Congregation of Holy Cross, committed staff, and an engaged community, the school continues to shine as a beacon of hope and transformation in the region.
